The Blackwell Realty Philosophy

It is my philosophy that real estate is really about lifestyle. We choose our residences, and our real estate investments because of our current, and expected, lifestyle.

My wife Linda, our son Tyler, and I began 16 years ago to build our dream home. The property we selected is a little over one acre, close to the city center, with a barn, fruit trees, and canal running through the property. We have improved the property by adding an English "cottage style" home, and extensive gardens and landscaping. We call our home Willoway Cottage Gardens, and have enjoyed sharing the property and flowers with the public through many open garden events, tours, and weddings. Linda and her gardens were also featured on HGTV's "A Place to Call Home" a few years ago. We are also proud to have received the "Building a Better Central Oregon" award for remodel. We are always interested in new ways to share our property. We are considering opening a Bed and Breakfast in the future.

In 2004 I achieved one of my goals which was to move my real estate business into the cottage. Working from the home office eliminates my commute, and allows me to enjoy more fully the life style that we have created, while helping others to achieve their real estate dreams. I have been careful not to sacrifice customer service in the process. The office is fully equipped with the latest technology for real estate. I am continuously connected with the multiple listing services for both Central Oregon and the leading national commercial and investment multiple listing service. I have found that I am actually better able to serve my clients from the home office because it is more convenient for me to take calls evenings and weekends. I also find that people are happier coming to the comfort of this residential office, than the commercial setting that we occupied previously. Clients enjoy the more relaxed approach and we often times visit as we walk the grounds. Others enjoy sitting in the gazebo or by the fire to discuss real estate possibilities. This is the reason for the name Blackwell Realty. An inglenook is a small seating area by the hearth designed for warm conversation on a cold day.
